EBR - Job seeker tip 307 | The Do's & Dont's In Uncertain Times
The Do's & Dont's In Uncertain Times
Written by Soong Chong, Director
There is a lot of uncertainty in the economy at the moment. And a clear indication of this is the share market rising and dropping anywhere from 4% to 6%. In addition it does not help that Australia doesn't have a very strong political leadership. Here are my tips for do's and dont's for job seekers in the current market state.
What to do if you don't have a job:
- Invest in yourself, engage in some more study
- Trust that we will get through the tough times
- Do volunteer work or work experience
- Never lose hope and keep on applying for jobs
- Review your CV so that it is perfect
What to do if you want to change jobs:
- If you are unhappy, give your current job (and the people in the current company) another chance
- Look for opportunities in your current company
- Don't make yourself or your role a target to be made obsolete. As Elvis used to sing "A little less conversation and little more action".
- Focus on the positives
