You might be feeling a bit down about the global financial crisis, and therefore less motivated to do your job seeking. Do not give up hope! With the economy back on the rise, EBR have written a list of tips on how to maximise your search and stay motivated.
Value
Even if you have been on a consistent salary throughout your work experience, you may be tempted to accept a lower offer due to your difficulty in finding a suitable position. If you are going for a position offering a lower salary, perhaps you should be enquiring as to whether there is much job progression and if there is potential for a salary increase at a later date. Money is a sensitive issue; you need to think about whether you want to settle for less and how it could affect yourself and potentially your family.
Don't rely on the internet
Developing technology has made it a lot easier to search for a new job. But this doesn't mean you should restrict your search to employment websites. Know of a company you would love to work for? Find out if the organisation has a career section on their webpage so you can take a look at what opportunities are on offer and find out how to apply.
Attend career seminars and industry events where some of the larger employers could be present. Some career seminars are a great introduction to government departments. Depending on the type of role you are applying for, visiting an organisation in person can be a great way of bringing your skills to their attention.

And finally, don't lose motivation or hope
Losing motivation can encourage many jobseekers to apply and accept jobs they do not genuinely wish to be considered for. Apply only for roles you are genuinely interested in. Being successful for a position you were only half-hearted about can result in job dissatisfaction and early resignation.
