Job Description: GIS Analyst / Technician with MapInfo & ArcGIS. 9 Mths contract.

Our client is looking for a GIS Analyst with MapInfo and ArcGIS for a 9 months contract.

To be successful for this position you will need to have min +2 years working experience with mainly MapInfo & ArcGIS.

The Contract GIS Analyst will have the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Report directly to GIS Supervisor for all tasks required and completed.
• Provide clients/colleagues with hard copy and/or soft copy maps on an as need basis
• Provide training and support in MapInfo to other GIS users and team members as required.
• Constantly communicate with GIS Supervisor and other team members to ensure team productivity remains at a high standard.
• Assist with the transition of current data sets from MapInfo format to SQL Server database systems.

• Maintain and adhere to new procedures and protocols to ensure a high level of accuracy in the data as it’s entered into and extracted from the SQL database.
• Adhere to new procedures and standardisations of map production sets for reports to ensure consistency across the GIS department.

Each GIS employee must have a relevant GIS based degree (GIS, Cartography or Surveying).

• Excellent MapInfo Skills REQUIRED
• ArcGIS skills Required
• Database skills recommended (SQL)
• GPS skills recommended
• Good communication skills recommended
