Main duties will include:

  • Drill rig supervision (air core and diamond core)
  • Core logging, chip logging and coal quality sampling
  • Down hole geophysics interpretation
  • Data processing
  • Monitor of coal mining (minimizing loss and dilution
  • Provision of geological support to mine production
  • EOM reporting and reconciliation 
  • Maintenance of the hydrological database
  • Use of GIS software
Skills & Qualification required:
  • Tertiary qualified in Geology
  • WA driving licence
  • Computer literate
  • Exposure to coal would be an advantage
  • Exposure to Vulcan and GIS software would be highly regarded but not essential

Your main Responsibilities would be:

  • Provide GIS data management and validation (Arcview)
  • Manage and validate geological data 
  • Statutory reporting for Government Departments.
  • Assist with supervision of drill programs using aircore, vacuum, RAB or diamond rigs.
  • Supervision of contractors, geologists and field assistants in the field as required.
  • Mentoring of geological field staff.
  • Coordination, management and reporting as required.
  • Assist with development of exploration programs.
  • Evaluate, supervise and coordinate Contractors and Service Providers.
The Successful candidate for this role will possess:
  • A Tertiary degree in Geology or any related field
  • Min 5 years experience as a Geologist
  • Previous experience in exploration operations will be highly regarded
  • 2 Years experience working with GIS Software
  • Understanding of QA/QC issues for geological data
  • A current C Class WA Drivers Licence

The project is for the creation of a spatial infrastructure database in MapInfo format.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop data specification and data dictionary
  • Create corresponding MapInfo tables
  • Gather all existing infrastructure data
  • Populate MapInfo tables with existing data
  • Identify missing data
  • Capture missing information using GPS and transfer to MapInfo tables
  • Import MapInfo tables in Asset Register

Essential Criteria:

  • Good Understanding and working knowledge of GIS- MapInfo / GPS
  • Good IT Skills 
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Class C Drivers License
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team Player
